Ribblehead Rly Station
Located just to the south of the world famous Ribblehead Viaduct is Ribblehead Railway Station. The station, operated by Northern Rail was closed in 1970 and the station on the northbound side demolished. Following the reopening of the station in 1986 it remained a single platform until the opening of a new northbound platform in 1993.
The station features a transfer siding for timber trains which are a regular visitor to the Settle and Carlisle Railway. The station itself is now leased to the Settle and Carlisle Railway Trust to have restored the station to its former glory.
